So we have seen a few statues of some quite notable characters in Republic City. Obviously Aang and Zuko get at least one each. The most recent Avatar and the most recent Fire Lord. They both also founded the city so their statues are quite respectable. Then there’s Toph’s. The most brilliant earthbender perhaps to this day, the first metalbender, AND founded the city’s police force. Again, quite respectable. Finally we come to Cabbage Merchant. I really have nothing against Cabbage Merchant. The man went from a simple salesman with a cart to founding the leading technology company in the city. That’s great and also respectable but I (and I hope I’m not the only one) really hope that Sokka gets at least one statue in his honor. Aside from his great character development, Sokka learned on his own how to be a great soldier and played a big part in ending the war. It may be my bias for the character kicking in but I’ll lose it if Cabbage Merchant gets a statue and Sokka gets NOTHING.
